Salsa Garden
Your Salsa Garden should be planted in a spot that gets full sun (6+hours a day). Plant in at least four inches of prepared soil if you are planting it in the ground, lay your Salsa Garden seed mat over the soil and cover with 1/2 inch of soil. Planting in the ground is great, but you will see the best results if you plant in a raised bed or large container. The container should be at least 20 inches in diameter.
Your Salsa Garden seed mat is in three sections, Cilantro, Chili Pepper and Tomato. Water daily making sure not to over water, early morning is the best time to water – you should only moisten the surface, not saturate. If the seeds get too much water they will rot and not grow. You should see sprouts from 7 to 15 days. These will all need thinning once they are about 2 inches tall. The tomatoes have about 12 inches of space around them, as should your chili peppers, the cilantro should be thinned to 4 inches apart.
Your cilantro will mature first but you can cut it and it will re-grow. The tomatoes and chilies will mature in 60 – 75 days. Water daily until your sprouts are about 2 inches tall then reduce to every other day.
